Your Thoughts or Jesus’ Thoughts

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)

Good Morning.  Who can honestly say on a daily basis their thoughts are a reflection of Philippians 4:8? I can’t speak for you, but I can tell you on some days my daily thoughts are not even close to the verse above.  As a matter of fact, today is one of those days.  I have to just shake my head.  God doesn’t expect us to be perfect.  He does want us to strive toward Philippians 4:8.  He wants us to use him as an example in our daily lives.  When you find yourself having thoughts that are not remotely close to above, it’s okay.  Think about how much he loves and cares for us.  Start thanking him then and there.  It will get your mind off of those thoughts and on the goodness of God.  Yes, people will push our buttons.  Yes, they will say and do things that are not right.  Guess what?  It’s still okay.  Like I said yesterday, only you will have to give an account for what you do and say on the day of judgement.  Like I said earlier, we are not perfect.  God doesn’t expect us to be.  The only thing we can do on a daily basis is strive to be half the person God was.  Have a Blessed Day!
