God is Love
Good Evening. This is the weekend for love as you all know. This upcoming Sunday is Valentine’s Day. You will have couples going on dates at restaurants or at home. There will be buying of gifts for each other, and maybe even some proposals being made. There will be individuals whose hearts will be going pitty-pat with the love that will be shown this weekend. As the commercials say, “Love is in the air.”
When you’re in love, you may smile when the person’s name is mentioned, laugh at something they said or did when you were together, or even get butterflies when they come into your presence. Some may argue that’s how you know you’re in love with a person. Let me tell you that love is so much more than that. It is loving the person’s imperfections. It is loving them through your hurt, their hurt, and all that comes with being in a relationship. Of course, I can go on, but I want to talk about another man that has loved us for a long time.
Who is this man? I’m glad you asked. It is our Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ. He made the ultimate sacrifice to show his love for us. Jesus died on the cross so that our sins would be forgiven. He died so that we may have life and have it more abundantly. The love that God shows cannot compare to the love that man has for each other. The thing about God’s love is that it wakes us up in the morning. It gives us the activity of our limbs while being of sound mind. God’s love goes before us during the day and watches over us at night. He makes sure that all our needs are met, and we lack nothing. God’s love gives us the desires of our heart. He loves us even when we don’t love ourselves. I can go on, but what can compare to that kind of love. When you think of love this weekend, think about God’s love. Have a Blessed Evening!
