Deceitful Prayers
God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law. Proverbs 28:9 (NLT)
God tells us in his word to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). That means from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep. This does not mean that you must get on your knees every time. If you say his name that is a prayer all within itself. He hears the prayers of the righteous (Proverbs 15:29). In the prayers that you have prayed, how many are asking for forgiveness for things done previously?
God does not want to hear the prayer if the intent is to do it again. Can I be transparent and say this has been me? We have good intentions, but that thing or that person seems to override the good intentions every time. Scripture says that our mouth says one thing, but God sees the heart (Isaiah 29:13). God already knows what we will do before we do it. We cannot get anything over on God. Why lie to yourself and God? That does not help you at all.
If you really want to get past whatever it is, you must sincerely ask God to help you. He knows that you cannot do it without him. God needs you to do your part as well. When the temptation comes in front of you, remove yourself from the situation. You may not be strong enough to resist right now. It is okay. Stay the course. One day you will.
Please continue to pray without ceasing. God loves to hear from his children. His desire is to give us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4).
