I Need a Word
Good Morning. Have you or someone you know sought out an individual that had the gift of prophesy or strong sense of discernment? Oftentimes, when we get the opportunity to speak with this person, we may say, “I need a word.” The reasoning for us seeking out an individual is because we need clarification on some things, or we may not know what direction God is wanting us to go. Only you know what that thing may be.
I have sought out these individuals in the past, mainly for clarification on where God was leading me. I doubted God’s word. It didn’t look like what I prayed about or for. You know how we can be. We pray and pray. We ask God to show us. He does. Sometimes or should I say most of the times, it doesn’t look like what we think it should. We go back to him again. He gives us the same response. How many of you have done that? It’s okay. Join the club.
I’m going to give you a perfect example. God has given me several business ideas. I asked him to show me when, where, and how. The first thing he said was move to Georgia. That’s where I will grow your business. God has been telling me to move to Georgia since 2015 I believe. I did not like that word. I’ve never had a desire to go there. I could not understand why he couldn’t or wouldn’t bless my business here in Montgomery. To be honest, I still do not want to move there, but I’m going to be obedient. I’m moving. When, I don’t know. I tried to move last year, but COVID happened. I have sought him each year on the same thing. The answer has not changed.
God’s word is better than any word we can get from anyone else. Please do not take this as me bashing you for seeking clarification. That is not it at all. What I’m saying is God’s word is good even when we doubt and lack faith in him and ourselves. God will show and tell us what to do. We have to be willing to sit still, listen, and follow his guidance and direction. Have a Blessed Day!
