Innocent in Christ

^13 “One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him.  ¹⁴ When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. ¹⁵ I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” ¹⁶ Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.”  Mark 10:13-15 (NLT)

The scripture tells us that Jesus wants our faith in Him to be just as innocent as those of little children.  He wants us to have blind faith.  How often have we let our faith dwindle because of things that we have experienced in life? 

We as adults sometimes become disillusioned because of life’s circumstances.  Even though we have faith, it is not as innocent as that of a child.  As adults, we teach children by what we do and say.  They are constantly watching us.  Not just in our home, but other places as well.  They rely on us to help navigate this thing called life.

Jesus has led a life that we can follow.  He died on the cross for us because our Father in heaven said it needed it to be done.  We can use Him as an example of how to do life.  As Christians, we will sometimes experience things that will have us questioning everything in our world.  It is okay.  If God had asked me to die on the cross for others that I know was not doing right, I would have been looking crazy.    

Things have happened in our life that we never thought we would overcome, but we did.  No matter what we go through, believe as a child that things will get better.  It will not remain this way always. “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Psalm 30:5 (NLT)
