Your Sin is an Offense against God

In life, we can have the tendency to want what we want, and oftentimes obtain it no matter if it’s right or wrong.  We do not think of anyone else or how this may affect them.  We just care about us.  How many times have your wrong actions affected not only you, but someone else as well?

I was studying Psalm 51 during my morning meditation.  It talks about David repenting after committing adultery with Bathsheba and killing her husband.  David wanted her at all cost.  He did whatever he had to do in order to get her.  In this passage of scripture, even though his sin was against Bathsheba and Uriah, David said he also sinned against God as well.

The sin was against God because David knew before he did it that he was wrong.  He already had a wife and concubines.  Why would he need to add Bathsheba to the mix?  God’s word says, “You must not commit adultery.” Exodus 20:14 (NLT) David did not know anything about Bathsheba and Uriah.  All he saw was a beautiful woman that he wanted.  We as flesh fall victim to the feelings and emotions of life.  It looks and feels good at the moment so we act on it.  Just know we have to deal with the consequences of said actions.

Please know that all sin is sin no matter what it is.  There is no big sin or little sin.  Everything we want and need is found in Jesus.  He will provide those things for us.  We do not have to lie, steal, or kill in order to get it.  Repent and ask God’s forgiveness if there is anything you have done wrong.
