Will You be Ready When Jesus Comes?
“Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten bridesmaidswho took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 3 The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps, 4 but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil.”
Matthew 25:1-4 (NLT)
I have started packing for my trip to Iowa for annual training at the end of the month. Normally, I would go to Wal-Mart and walk around for hours getting what I need. This time I used my packing list to order what I needed from Amazon. Please raise your hand if you and Amazon are best friends. When I want or need anything, I order from them. To make things even better, I have Amazon Prime, so my items are normally delivered in 2 Days right to my door. Now, I have ordered from Wal-Mart online, but find I like Amazon better. Depending on what I need and how soon I need it determines if I order from them. When I leave at the end of the month, I will probably have more than what I need when I get there. Will you be prepared when Jesus comes?
When I am traveling, I like to be prepared. Sometimes I still miss things, but you better believe they are insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I know the 5 foolish virgins wished they could have gotten some oil delivered that night. They possibly knew they would be waiting hours. Why not be prepared just in case? Did someone not tell them, they could be waiting for hours? If they were told, why not get extra oil? I am just saying. I would like to think that my mindset would be like the 5 wise virgins. I refuse to miss what God has for me so whatever I need to do, it shall be done. What have you missed because you were not prepared?
When I ask the last question, please believe that I have missed a lot as well. It was either because I was not prepared, or I thought I was not good enough to have it. Jesus is coming back one day. He is coming back for us. Please believe it. There is a song we sing that says:
“Get your house in order. Do it today. Get your house in order. Do it right away. For Jesus is coming. No man knows where or when. Get your house in order. For he’s coming back again.”
My question to you today is will you be ready? When you get an opportunity, please read the whole passage of scripture.
