Building Your Faith Muscle

Good Morning. Earlier part of this week, my son and I watched the Gabby Douglas Story. I loved the movie because it showed my son what faith and determination could do for you. As parents, we know talking to our kids sometimes is like talking to a brick wall. The things he learned in the movie were things I had been telling him for months. Gabby Douglas had talent that only got better with training and learning as much as she could. She wanted to be the best so that’s what she strived for. Gabby went to the gym everyday. She practiced moves that other gymnast wouldn’t touch. Gabby set out to get one of the best coaches in the world to coach her. He did. Our faith in God can only get stronger if we train our mind by learning as much of the word as we can. Look at God! I was thinking of using her story in a whole different angle. It takes reading our bible each day even it’s only a verse, meditating on that verse, and asking God what it means to us in this season. God is our coach in life. He yearns for us to learn different words to fight against the enemy. That’s why he gave us the bible. You have to have faith that the word works for you too. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or should have done. That last statement is for somebody. Over the years, my dad has told me that he’s heard the same scripture preached different ways based off what God revealed to each particular preacher. Isn’t that just awesome! He can do the same for you. It takes a need and a want to pursue your faith in God, determination in your faith that it will work, and knowing that God won’t leave you out there to fight on your own. Have a Blessed Day!
