Worship Your Way Through
20 Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:20-21 (NKJV)
Good Morning. I was reading this passage of scripture yesterday during my study time. During the span of one day, Job lost everything except his wife, his life, and four servants that were left alive to tell him what happened. You know the story so I won’t go into the rest. The part I would like to concentrate on is in verse 20 when it said he worshiped. As I’m reading this, I’m thinking about how I would have reacted that day. I know I would have cried as Job did. God created our emotions so when we experience loss, disappointment, etc. it’s okay to feel what we feel, and grieve. Would I have worshiped is the real question? Would you? In the midst of everything, Job praised God because he realized that at the end of the day, God had given him everything. He loved God for who he is, not for what he could do for him. We can have a setback where our power gets cut off. Our car stops. Coworker says the wrong thing to us to make us upset. Do you ever stop, and say thank you Jesus? Do you praise your way through that situation? Sometimes we don’t. I’m guilty as well. We have to acknowledge that Jesus is sovereign over everything. He knows what’s about to happen to us way before we do. I challenge you to say Thank You Jesus when you experience things that are not pleasing today. I challenge you to worship your way through. I don’t care if you don’t feel like it. I don’t care if you’re angry. Worship your way through. It will change your whole attitude, which will in turn change your day. Have a Blessed Day!
