Leave Your Children Jesus

Good Evening.  When I tell you God is a good God?  There is so much to be grateful for on an everyday basis.  To be able to wake up in the morning with a portion of your health and strength. Grateful.  To wake up in your right mind.  Grateful.  To walk into the kitchen, hold the refrigerator door open, and pick what you want to eat. Grateful.  The list goes on and on. 

When I look at this generation of children these days, they are so entitled.  Parents are not teaching them the value of a dollar.  They believe that they should have whatever they want.  They have no respect for adults or authority.  The first thing parents want to say is, “I will not raise my children like my parents raised me. I will give my children what I never had.” Parents, we need you to raise them like our parents raised us.  Now more than ever. I’m not saying don’t do for your children. Just teach them how to be thankful for what you do.

Mark 8:36 (KJV) says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his soul?”  What does your child learn when you give them everything, but don’t tell them about the one that gave it to you?  How do they learn that God is their provider if you don’t tell them how he provides for you?  How do they learn to lean on him when you make it seem like you did it all by yourself?  I’m just saying.

Our children need to know that we wouldn’t make it if we didn’t walk and talk with God daily.  They need to know that if it had not been for God on our side, where would we be.  They need to know these things.  We say we want to leave our children generational wealth.  That’s all well and good.  I’m trying to do the same thing.  I think it’s time for us to leave our children a generational Jesus.  We need to pass him down from generation to generation.  They need to know who God is.  Have a Blessed Evening!
