God’s Word vs Man’s Word

Through the years, I have relied on friends and family to do things for me.  Some of them came through whereas others disappointed me.  I would be hurt because when they needed me, I would always be there for them.  Of course, we would give them the benefit of the doubt hoping that things will be different next time only to find out it is not.  We want to believe in them.  Why do we feel the need to want to believe man over God?

We allow man to continually disappoints us, yet we turn to them instead of God.  What is wrong with that picture? Psalm 118:8 (NLT) says, “It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man.”  This is what God said to us in his word.  Please believe that you are not the only one that has believed man over God.

Isaiah 55:11 (NLT) says, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”  God does not change.  He will do whatever he says that he will do for you and through you.  Man will always disappoint if they are the only ones that we look for to be there for us.

Believe the promises of God.  “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NLT) If you pray and believe for something, know that God will do it for you.  It may not look like you think it should, but it will always be God’s best for us.
