Purpose in Any Position

Oftentimes, we look at certain positions as having the most power.  The higher the position, the more power that comes with it.  We do not want the lowest positions because we feel that people look at you a certain way.  Even the way they treat you may be different.  Yes, there may be truth  in the last two statements, but you should not allow those things affect how you show up every day in your position.  There is purpose in every position. 

I was studying 2 Kings 5 one morning during my morning meditation.  There was a man named Naaman that suffered from leprosy.  He was held in high regard because of his position as commander of the King’s Army.  During this time, Naaman and his army had raided Israel and brought back captives to become servants to them.  One captive was a young Israelite girl that he made his wife’s maid.  When she heard of Naaman’s leprosy, she told Naaman’s wife that she wished he would go see the prophet in Samaria.  Naaman got permission from King Aram to go see him.  Long story short, Naaman was healed and turned his life over to God.

Today, I do not want you to concentrate on Naaman, his position, or his healing.  I want you to look at the young maid that mentioned healing for Naaman.  I do not think if I was the young girl, I would have mentioned trying to help heal the person that stole me from my home, held me captive, and made me a servant.  If anything, you would have thought she would want him to die from the disease.  This shows how God can use anyone in any circumstance for his glory.  As a result, Naaman was healed, and start serving the one true God. 

I know that position is not what you want.  I know that you are over qualified.  God has you there for a reason.  Your promotion is coming.  This may seem like a setback, but he is preparing you for your comeback.  Stay faithful.  Remember you are working unto God, not man.
