Live Your Life based on Jesus

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

Working in the school system at an elementary level as well as middle school has allowed me to see a lot.  Peer pressure now versus when we were in school is totally different.  Our children have so much to deal with now.  This morning, a young girl was not in dress code, so I had to call her mother to bring her some clothes.  Her mom fussed at her in front of these two girls.  These girls were not her friends, yet she was crying because her mom said something to her in front of them.  She was worried that they would talk about her to whomever. I told her to wash her face and not to worry about those girls.  They did not know her so do not worry about them.  This is the way that society has us today.  We worry more about what others think and say versus what we know to be true.  When was the last time you cared about what God thought and said about you?

I am not saying that you should not care about what others think and say about you.  You must learn to discern when to listen and when not to listen.  These people should not be your main concern.  God is the one that made you.  He cares and loves you regardless whereas these people will possibly kick you to the side based on what you did.  God will never throw you away.  If God will never throw you away, should you not be more concerned with how he feels and what he thinks versus people?

Tonight, go to bed remembering that you are valuable.  At times it may not feel like it.  At times, others will make you feel like you are not.  It is not what they say, it is what God says.
