God will Fight, Sit on the Sidelines

“The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” Exodus 14:14 (NLT)

When I was younger, I was angry a lot.  I held my anger in and oftentimes felt like no one would understand even if I did share.  One altercation I could have avoided just to give you an example.  You know how it was when you were in junior high and high school.  If someone said something about your momma, those were fighting words.  You were ready to tear the school down.  LOL!  Who cared what someone said about your momma?  You knew those things were not true, yet you did not think about that then.  Just a little humor tonight, but I want you to really think about it.  How many situations could have been avoided if you allowed God to step in and make it right?

Read the verse above again.  It is a short and simple verse.  All we must do is stay calm while they are acting a fool.  I am not saying it will not be hard because it is.  I work in the school system currently.  I am the first line of defense so to speak before the parents speak to the principal.  I have been cursed out, had the phone hung up in my face, and called names outside of my government name.  Why?  Because they possibly have no control over their child and cannot make them do anything.  What I try to do instead of acting like them is be nice and cordial.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not because we are human.  There is only so much a person can take.  I get it.  Every now and again, they will catch a dial tone from me.  I digressed.

There are some battles that are not meant for us to fight.  Scripture says we wrestle not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12).  The devil is constantly coming against us to get us off task.  To get us out of character.  We do not have to do or say anything.  As stated above, God will fight for us.  All we must do is watch from the sidelines.
