More Than Enough

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

I have suffered with low self-esteem since about the age of 12. Even now I have to make a cognizant effort to keep my thoughts positive when it comes to myself. I have shared this in my previous blogs, yet I feel compelled to share again. With that being said, I know I am speaking to someone today. How often do we allow our thoughts to define or re-define who God says we are?

Let us break down this scripture. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” When God thought of you, he was excited. He knew that his creation (you) would change the life and/or lives of all that came in contact with you. He knew that it would inspire others and in some cases cause others to admire you. Of course, there are others that will not like you.That is life. We do take them into consideration. The scripture goes on to say, “Your works are wonderful.” There is that word again, “Wonderful.” When God created heaven and earth, he said, “It was good.” You were more than good, you were “Wonderful.” The last part of this verse says, “I know that full well.” It is with certainty that you must believe and say this about yourself. Why? Because God believes it about you. Please know that God never makes mistakes.

So you are thinking, “Life is hard. People are cruel. They tear you down. You do not know what I have been through.” I get it. Life and people will have you thinking that you are no good. That you are your mistakes. That you are your parent(s) mistakes. No, you are not. Yes, God needed something from each of your parents to create the “wonder” that is you. You have to decide whether you are going to let others and things keep you from seeing that.

I encourage you today and any other day to repeat this verse to yourself when you are not feeling enough. God thought you were enough. That is all that matters! Have a Blessed Day!
