Speak What God Says, Nothing Else
Good Morning. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) What do you say about yourself on a daily basis? What do you allow others to say to you? Let me share some things I’ve heard in the course of my life by people who say they loved me. “You’re stupid.” “No one will love you like I love you.” “No one else will want you especially with two children.” Let me tell you that at one point I really believed those things about myself. I actually believed and said those things myself. My self-esteem was very low. Could you tell? No. I hid it very well. I did find myself conforming to what others wanted so I could feel better about myself. So I could be loved. Can I tell you that living like that was bondage? I didn’t realize that until years later. You may think that what others say about you doesn’t affect you. It does. I tell my kids all the time; it’s not what others say about you, it’s what God says. They have to repeat what to me what I’ve taught them from God’s word. What does God say? Deuteronomy 28:13 (NKJV) says, “And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.” He also says in Romans 8:16-17 (NKJV), “16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” These are just a few verses. God says so much more in his word. Are you going to believe what others say or what your God says? Today speak what God says over your life. Have a Blessed Day!
