Are Your Thoughts the Weapon You are Fighting?

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17

I love God’s word. You can read the word and it could mean different things to different people.  I was listening to my praise and worship music this morning and I just started praying. I was going down my list praying for different family and friends when the scripture above came to mind. When I think about the weapons we face and there are plenty, our thoughts can cause the most damage. Our thoughts are sometimes influenced by our past, others, or just our insecurities to name a few.  How many of us are fighting our negative thoughts everyday?

I would like to break down the above scripture for you:

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper…” – what we are fighting does not always have to be in the physical aspect of our lives. It can be mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or financially. How you handle each aspect is different for everyone. A scripture that I feel you can use to combat this is 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV) which says, “Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…”

“And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn.” – the tongue that we are speaking of today is your tongue. We are our own worst critics. How many of you on a daily basis speak negatively about yourself? I cannot lose this weight. I have tried and I am still big. I cannot get this job. I am not qualified enough. Proverbs 15:4 (NLT) says, “Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”

“This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.” – let me give you the definition of heritage. Heritage is something that comes or belongs to one by reason of birth; an inherited lot or portion. As a child of God, you were already given the protection of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ just by being born. He already knew what you would face in this life. So even though there may have been or still are some trials and tribulations that came with life, God said that it would not be successful.

I get it. It is a struggle for me a lot of days to feel like I am good enough to share my blogs with you. When I look at how many people view my blogs, I have 0-2 people. I know that I cannot stop writing because this is what God has called me to do. His will still needs to be fulfilled.
I encourage you to get God’s words inside of your heart so your thoughts are God’s thoughts and not yours. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)

Have a Blessed Day!
