Blind Faith

“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)

Hebrews 11:1 is one of my favorite verses, yet one that is hard for me sometimes.  I do not do well when asked to just trust blindly and that is with anyone and anything.  I know you have heard of what I will call the trust test.  You fall back into the arms of someone hoping that they will catch you.  How many of you have just stood there doing nothing instead of letting God catch you?

As I read further to verse 3, it tells us that the world was formed by just the words of God.  Nothing was visible at all to see.  The same way God formed the world with just his worlds, you can do the same thing with yours.  You can plan your life, but know that God will only give you his best.  We all are familiar with Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT), “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Today, I encourage you to start speaking the life that you want.  Proverbs 18:21 (NLT) says, “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.”  Remember that when you speak over yourself and the ones you love.  Granted, it will be hard when you go through seasons where it seems like nothing is changing.  Your time is coming.  Just keep speaking and believing it.  Your words help shape your life.

Trusting in God is blind faith.  Just like I mentioned earlier in the post in reference to falling back and believing the person will catch you.  Fall back into God’s arms trusting that he will always catch you. You will have the life you want if you do.
