Clearing the Path for Jesus

“And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” Mark 16:15 (NLT)

Growing up, reading and studying the Bible, we find there were many men that paved the way before Jesus came.  These prophets as known in the Bible were God’s messengers on earth.  They were to prepare us for the coming of Jesus Christ.  Fast forward 2000 years, we still have messengers on earth to prepare us for the coming of Jesus Christ.  They are our preachers, teachers, bishops, etc.  We sometimes want to believe that preachers, teachers, bishops. Etc. is the only messengers sent by God.  Whether you may believe it or not, you are a messenger as well.

Your journey may not look like the prophets in the bible.  Your journey may not even look like our pastors, teachers, or bishops.  That does not mean you cannot prepare someone for the coming of Jesus Christ.  How do you help prepare for Jesus’ coming?  It is shown by the way you live your life.  How people see you live your life will have an effect on whether or not they turn their lives to Christ.  We have to show them that even when life is not peaches and cream, we trust God to take care of us.  You can also tell unbelievers about Romans 6:23 (NLT), “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

My son and I were talking the other day which is a whole message by itself.  I told him that no one that has walked the earth is perfect, but Jesus.  You are not to portray a life that is perfect.  We need to show the unbelievers that even in our imperfectness, it does not change the love that God has for us.  The life we live is one that is made by us.  We choose to believe that no matter what, God has us.  They need to see it as well.

I am not telling you to go in the streets tomorrow, and try to turn people to Christ.  Start in your household.  Start with your family.  If you turn one, they turn one, it causes a domino effect.  In the Bible, it talks about the shepherd losing a sheep.  He was not concerned about the 99 sheep.  He left to find the one.  Clear the Path for Jesus with your one.
