Our Incentive

Good Afternoon.  I want to talk to you today about incentives.  Incentives are things that motivate or encourage us to do something.  Incentives are used on the job to help motivate employees.  Incentives may even be used in your home to motivate your children to do things.  I use spankings as motivation for my children.  I am just saying.  Now back on task.  Oftentimes we want incentives in order for God to do something for us.  If this is not you, it is okay because I know I am speaking to someone today.  I want to give you an example of something that an individual may say, “God if you heal me, I will go to church every Sunday.”  The Lord may heal them, but they have yet to be seen in church one Sunday.  Like I said before, if this is not you, it is okay, but if it is, continue reading.  We should not need any incentive to love and follow the One that came to earth, walked around for 33 years, being lied on and mistreated by the one’s he came to earth to save.  We should not need any incentive to love and follow the One that died on the cross so we can have life and have it more abundantly.  John 3:16 (KJV) says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  What other incentive do we need than to know that we will have everlasting life with God?  I could give you other scriptures, but I would like for you to meditate on this one.  No incentives should be needed.  Have a Blessed Day!
