Real Love

Good Morning.  As you know, I grew up as a preacher’s kid.  I went to church all the time.  Needless to say, I took a break when I got older.  Even though I grew up knowing the word, I didn’t completely allow it to fill me as it should have.  During a period of time, God was not enough for me.  I sought what I needed in the arms of other men.  There were some that were good and some I knew shouldn’t have been in my life. 

Can I just say thank God for growth?  Also, thank God because he didn’t give up on me.  I was searching for a love that only God could give me which was real love.  God had been trying for years to show how deep his love was for me, but I couldn’t see it.  Aren’t we glad that God’s love isn’t based on who we are or what we do?  If that was the case, we would all be in a world of hurt.  His love is based on who he is.

Mary J. Blige has a song called Real Love.  Yes, I know it is a secular song, but the chorus stuck out to me.

Real Love, I’m searching for a real love.

Someone to set my heart free.

I got to have a real love.

How many of you know that you can’t make it without Jesus?  The real love you’re searching for can only be found in Jesus. Everything we need can only be found in him.  The thing is you have to allow him in.  God will not force himself into your life.  That’s why he gave us free will.  If you let God into your life and heart, you will never doubt how man should love and treat you.  Have a Blessed Day!
