Resting in Christ

Good Morning. This morning I want to talk to you about resting in Christ. For me, weekends are my time to practically do nothing. If I don’t have to go out, I don’t. My kids are old enough that they can do for themselves. Everything from the week before that may have stressed me is dropped until I pick it back up on Monday. I found when I do this, my view changes on what I need to do in order to deal with particular things in my life. That’s what resting in Christ is about. We have to step back, allow our minds to rest, and then ask God how to handle situations those particular situations. Our efforts are sometimes not enough. We have to turn to God because if we continue to do it on our own, we may never finish. Sometimes we also have to drop how we see things in the natural eye, and view it from the spiritual eye. When we allow ourselves to rest in the knowledge and understanding of his word, our view changes. As Christians, we sometimes can get caught on what we see. Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV) says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” We have to keep moving, resting in God, allowing him to show us how to navigate this thing call life. He’s always there, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Learn to rest in him. Today, take the time to read Hebrews 4. Have a Blessed Day!
