Adversity is for Everyone
Good Morning. Yesterday was a good day overall. Accomplished most of what I had to do during and after work so I was good or so I thought. I came home started cooking and helped both my sons with homework. All of a sudden this feeling of being overwhelmed just came over me. My mind started thinking about everything that I was facing in this season. Things I have asked the Lord to bring me out of. After I put the meat in the oven I immediately went into my prayer room. At that point I knew I had to get it out. I cried literally while thanking God for everything he has done past, present, and future. I had to remind myself that it’s okay to have a moment when you’re just not okay even when you believe. I give you the same permission. Later on I was studying Job 2. In Job 2, God allowed Satan to test Job further after Job passed Satan’s first test in chapter 1. The only thing God required was that Satan did not kill Job. Satan struck Job’s body with sore boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head (verse 7). In verse 9, Job’s wife told him to curse God and die. The verse that spoke to me was verse 10, “But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.” Who are we to not face anything in our lives? This is what the Lord says about Job in verse 3, “Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause.” Can God say the same things about us? We sin everyday, known and unknown. Some of us haven’t experienced half of what Job did in the span of 1-2 days. When we walk in faith, it doesn’t guarantee a life without issues. We just have to stand and watch God change things. Have a Blessed Day!
