1-Star or 5-Star Rating
Good Morning. Anytime, we travel to other cities or states or even have a staycation in our own city, we look at the ratings of different hotels before we choose one to stay in. We know the hotels that have a lower rating may not be an ideal place to stay. Of course, the hotels with a higher rating may be good to go. I have stayed in hotels with a higher rating which I considered not up to par. When you see a hotel that have a rating between 2 and 4, we take a chance just like staying in one with a rating of 1 or 5. What some may consider to be great accommodations may not be considered the same for someone else depending on expectations.
What would you give the rating of your life right now? For some individuals we will make the assumption that their life can only be a 1 or 5 based on their living conditions. We look at how they’re dressed, what they drive or if they’re walking, and what kind of home they live in. Can I tell you that none of that plays a part in their mental health? We have seen famous people kill themselves after having everything they could want in their materialistic life. Let me tell you that you can have it all, not have Jesus, and be empty on the inside. God is the one that blesses you with the things you have.
Some of you are complaining about the life you have. You choose to give yourself a low rating because of what you consider negatives not positives in your life. You cannot see what you have because you are so focused on what you don’t have, what you haven’t accomplished in your career, what house and/or car you haven’t been able to purchase yet because of different reasons. How do you know that what you’re believing for is less than what God actually wants to give you? How do you know that God hasn’t given you those things because you’re not thankful for what he has given you already? How do you know that he can’t give you more until you start blessing someone else? We are supposed to be blessing to others. I’m just saying.
Please stop rating your life based on materialistic things. When you die, you cannot take it with you. Job 1:21 (NLT) says, “He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!” Job was rich by man’s standards back in the bible days. His life would have been considered to be a 5-star rating. In a matter of days, it was all gone. Your life can be the same way. You can look up one day, and it’s all gone. Just something to think about. Have a Blessed Day!
