If God Can’t Fix It, Nobody Can
“Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26 (NLT)
I count myself as blessed. I grew up around both sets of grandparents on both sides. Growing up, I learned a lot of old sayings from them. One of them is the title of my blog this evening. My dad reminded me because I was having a mini meltdown because of things going on in my world. My family considers me to be strong. I am for the most part, but sometimes I am not, and feel it. Are you the one that everyone depends on to fix things?
I would consider the title another way of saying the verse above. There are many situations that happen in life that we cannot fix no matter what we do or say. Kenny Rogers has this song where he says, “You gotta know when to hold’em, know when to fold’em, know when to walk away, know when to run.” He said a mouth full when he wrote those lyrics. We must know when to give it over to God. Somethings are just too big for us.
God’s word says that he will not put no more on us than we can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13) so that means those things that we can and cannot handle. In those times where we cannot handle it, we must ask God to give us the peace and patience to hang on while he is fixing it. Yes, it will be hard. Sometimes it will seem like it will never end. Hold on. Your change is coming.
