I’ll Take Silver Any Day

Good Morning. Today is my birthday. I’m thankful to God for allowing me see the age of 39. After I got my haircut yesterday, a gentleman asked me was I going to color my hair. I told him no as I loved my salt and pepper. In Proverbs 16:31 (NKJV), it says, “The silver-haired head is a crown of glory, If it is found in the way of righteousness.” The Hebrews believed that silver hair and old age were good. It signified experience and wisdom. Growing up, I saw people live to be 100 and then some. So many young people are dying senseless deaths today. Pray for our young people. They need it so desperately. To be able to see 39 with gray is more than good with me. The second part of the verse says, “If it is found in the way of righteousness.” Righteousness means the quality of being morally right or justifiable. Today, I’m not so sure because some people are just plain foolish. They have no respect for life whatsoever. All races included. The old folks used to say when you know better you do better. That still applies today. I’ll take my gray hair any day if I’ve accomplished Ephesians 1:17-18 (NKJV). “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.” Have a Blessed Day!
