More Than You Can Imagine
“That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” I Corinthians 2:9 (NLT)
Do you remember when you were little, you used your imagination to take you to the places you could not go? A friend reminded me of this one day while we were having a conversation. I kept going on and on about wanting to go to the beach. I was complaining about the hotel prices because they are so high. He told me to close my eyes and just listen. He told me to use the sounds from the water behind my apartment to hear the waves crashing against the shore. He told me to use the sounds of nature to transport me to how I feel when I am on the beach. It worked. As I am sitting here meditating, God brought me back to that moment.
As adults, because of life, we have stopped using our imagination to help us go through. People, bad decisions, past and present trauma, etc. have played a big part. I love the scripture that I shared with you this morning. Some of you may or may not have experienced all that God is capable of doing yet. Do not worry. It is coming! In those cases, I would say that it is not in God’s timing yet. In other cases, some of you have experienced your cup running over with blessings in your life. The thing is, God blesses each and every one of us everyday. We often take the small things for granted. Whatever the case may be, continue to thank and praise God in the midst.
No matter where you are in life right now, never stop using your imagination to catapult you to where you desire to go. Psalm 37:4 (ESV) says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Delighting yourself in the Lord will give you peace, joy, happiness and comfort while you are waiting on Him to give you your desires. The reason being is because God wants to bless you. He wants you to prosper. It is there. Everything that you are praying and believing for is already here. You just have to believe it.
