We Are a Part of God’s Family
“I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people.” Leviticus 26:12
“A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV)
Good Morning. I wanted to talk to you today about family. I have a close family. We love each other through all our mess. Most importantly we support each other. I know some of you may not have a strong connection with your immediate family. I think it’s safe to say you may have some people in your life that love and support you as if they were your family. If neither one of the scenarios fit you above, let’s talk about Jesus being the only family you need. He says in Isaiah 49:15-16 (NKJV), “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. 16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.” He knows right were you are right now. In the above-mentioned scriptures, he said you would be his people. He also said he would stick closer than a brother. He hasn’t forgotten about you in what you’re going through or have gone through. Yes, they turned their backs on you when you needed them the most. Yes, they may have said some things that made you feel less than who GOD says you are. Yes, I know it hurts. Don’t let it stop you. Keep moving. Keep seeking God. He will turn it around for you. In Matthew 22:44 (NKJV) says, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”’?
