When God Uses “Washing Machine Seasons” To Grow Us

If you’ve ever stood in front of a washing machine and watched the whole cycle play out, you know it’s not exactly peaceful. There’s soaking, spinning, shaking, draining, and starting all over again. It’s loud. It’s messy. And it takes time.

Honestly, it looks a lot like the Christian journey.

We love the “fresh and clean” moments, but the process it takes to get there? Not so much. Still, every cycle has a purpose. And God uses each one to shape us.

1. The Soak: When God Lets Us Sit Still

Before the real movement starts, the clothes sit in water. Nothing seems to be happening. It feels slow.

Our spiritual soak seasons look like that too.

These are the quiet moments where God hasn’t given us the next step yet. We aren’t moving. We aren’t sure why. But He’s softening our hearts. Preparing us. Letting His word sink in.

It’s not wasted time. It’s preparation time.

2. The Wash: When God Agitates Us to Clean Us
