Why worry about the Leaves when You have the Whole Tree

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.” Psalm 24:1 (NLT)

I love my parents.  The older they get the funnier they get.  One day I asked my father for some money.  My mom made a comment in reference to me taking from her.  Not in a bad way at all.  My father told her, “Why worry about the leaves when you have the whole tree?”  Think about that.  Let me bring it back even closer.  Why worry about others blessings when you have a God that blesses you as well?

2 Corinthians 9:8-10 (NLT) says, “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. ” Read that verse again.  The blessings that God has for you are for you.  No one can take your blessings just like you cannot take someone else’s blessings.  God has enough for everyone.

Psalm 23:5 (NLT) says, “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.”  Let’s focus on the last statement in that verse. “My cup overflows with blessings.”  Your cup overflows everyday with blessings when he allows you to open your eyes to a brand new day.  Your cup overflows every day when you return home to a house that was the same way when you left it.  Your cup overflows when you have your health and strength and is of a sound mind.  Others have it way worse than you.  Be grateful.

Let’s reread the verse above.  Everything that’s in this earth and of this earth belongs to God.  He will continually bless you.  You just have to trust and believe.
