The Yellow Brick Road (Pt. 1)
Good Morning. How many of you remember The Wizard of Oz? I’m going to give you a little background. When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical Land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help.
There are so many things that are speaking to me right now. The first thing I would like to speak on is the people Dorothy meet along the way. She meets three people that decide to go on this journey with her because they were all lacking different things in their life. They wanted the Wizard to help them as well. So let me start off by saying this. There will be people that you meet on life’s journey that mean you good. Then there are others that only want to use you to get what they need from you. Sometimes we spot those right away, but then sometimes it takes a few situations for us to get it. We all have been there. It’s okay.
We have all met individuals that have no brain or common sense. You wonder why they do some of the things they do. It doesn’t matter how much you talk to them. It doesn’t matter how much you try to show them a better way, they still do stupid things. They will even coerce you into doing things that you would never do. They are out there, and some of you are still dealing with one now.
Some individuals will be missing a heart. They will hurt you over and over again, and not feel anything. They steal, lie, and give false hope knowing that they are not going to change. It does not matter what you say, what you do, or how much you love them. It is not in them to reciprocate.
Then you meet the ones that lack courage. They may lack the courage to get out of the abusive relationship. They see it as love or maybe the person has threatened them. Some lack the courage to open that business, get back in school, or write that book. Maybe this person is you. I don’t know. What I’m saying we have all met these people at one point in time.
All this is part of life’s journey. Learn from each person and situation. Use the people and situations to help you grow and become a better person. Have a Blessed Day!
