Spiritual Dehydration
Good Morning. Have you ever been dehydrated? Dehydration is the excessive loss of water from the body or from an organ or body part, as from illness or fluid deprivation. If you’ve ever been dehydrated, you know you may feel weak until you replace the fluids that were lost from your body. As I was studying last night, I was reading about the Samaritan Woman at the well. I just want to give you a small recap of the story. The Lord asked her for a drink. The woman wanted to know how he could ask her for a drink when she was a Samaritan and he was a Jew. The Lord responded that he would give her the living water, and she would never thirst again. The Samaritan Woman asked the Lord to give her the water that he was speaking of. Now that I have given you a back story so to speak, I want to talk to you about Spiritual Dehydration. This is my definition of Spiritual Dehydration. Spiritual Dehydration is when you fail to allow the Lord into your life on a daily basis, and you start to feel Holy Spirit deprivation. That’s pretty good if I may so myself. LOL! Little humor for you. If you can’t laugh on your spiritual walk, you will have many days of crying. Getting back to my thoughts. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLT) says, “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” Psalms 68: 19 (KJV) says, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.” Psalms 68:19 (KJV) I would like to believe that when we take time each day to talk to God, give him honor and praise for what he has done, he’ll load us daily with the benefits of his Holy Spirit. We need his spirit in order to make it daily. Have a Blessed Day!
