Your Plans versus God’s Plan

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)

Good Morning. Have you ever had your life mapped out to a T? You’d graduate from high school, finish college in four years, and marry 5 years after with 2.5 kids by the age of 30? Don’t be ashamed if that’s your plan. I’m just going to say be ready for detours along the way. Oh, if I could roll back 20 years to use the knowledge I’ve acquired at the age of 38. Maybe I would be somewhat on point by now. Who knows? I heard this saying, “Life is 10% of what happens and 90% on how you respond.” Include God in your plans for the day, week, and even year’s come. I love Jeremiah 29:11 as mentioned above. God’s plan for you will be so much better than you could ever hope. You have to trust him, and let go of what you feel is best. I’m thinking about making some big changes in my life. Actually, relocating to another state. I’ve sought God in this because I need his guidance. I’ve had doubts because my first concern is my kids. How will they adapt? I need a job to support us. Will I be able to find a job? Both sides of my family are here therefore I won’t have a support system if I leave. I have to find us somewhere to stay. All are valid points. The thing about our plans versus God’s plan, he can deny our plans. 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV) says, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” If God says, “No I need for you to stay.” I’m cool with that because if I move outside of God’s will, then there will be things I would have to deal with unnecessarily. I’ve been there and done that. If he says no, I know there is a reason for it. Whatever the reason, I trust him. I don’t know about you but I need my peace. Include God today. It can be something as small as asking him what you should eat for lunch today. Talk to him. Old song says, “Have a little talk with Jesus. Tell him all about your troubles. He’ll hear your faintest cry. He’ll answer bye and bye.” There’s more to that song, but I’ll stop it there. Have a Blessed Day!
